“Some people rent out a venue. We went with an entire mountain.”
This quote by one of my elopement couples in 2019 perfectly sums up why elopements in Colorado continue to be so popular. Gone are the days that eloping meant a quick trip to Vegas in a cheesy Elvis themed chapel (while still very valid, it isn’t the only option anymore!) Colorado scenery is vast in its beauty and couples more and more are taking advantage of that and choosing to have intimate, small weddings or elopements with breathtaking views or in ways that are less traditional than bigger weddings.
Intimate weddings and elopements tend to lend themselves to a more personal touch on your wedding day. The vows tend to be a bit more personal, & emotion tends to flow just a bit more when the spotlight doesn’t feel so big. They are also far less stressful to plan leaving you with more time and energy to celebrate!
I have absolutely loved photographing elopements over the last few years and am so excited to be offering photography coverage for couples who are interested in non-traditional ways of committing to each other whether it be on top of a mountain, in a rad Airbnb or anywhere that is meaningful to you and your partner. The beauty of life is choice and weddings shouldn’t be held to any standard but your own!
