The end of summer brought a fall that didn’t quite start before we got snow but there were lingering warm afternoons full of gorgeous light and enough warmth to make believe summer was still here. I met with Agatha and her family for a non-traditional take on family photos in the form of lifestyle photography in Denver. When she called me to inquire she told me that her family wasn’t so much of a sit on top of a mountain and pose kind of family and that they wanted photos in their home and backyard because it was where they spent such a big amount of their time together.
Agatha & her husband and two littles welcomed me in and showed me how they played, laughed and loved. Their sweet older dog joined in on the fun and having a sweet older dog myself I know how much they will cherish having images of her to remember how special she is. They built a custom slide/climbing wall combo and it was awesome to see how Agatha’s oldest was so into wall climbing. Their youngest has these eyes that are of an old soul. That term gets tossed around these days but when I say it I mean it with this one. She was calm, serene, and absolutely adorable.
Photographing this sweet family gave me such a spark. I loved witnessing the love they have but also how they play together. I hope that they always play together as a family and that that slide/climbing wall only gets bigger and better as they grow.
In home lifestyle family sessions are where my heart sings the loudest. I love to see childhood unfolding in front of me. It’s such a special thing to witness and I’m always so honored when families trust me to capture them in their element.
