Denver Botanic Gardens Wedding – Pastel Dreams
Documentary Wedding Photography
Vanessa & Mark had a beautifully intimate garden wedding at the tail end of summer. They fell in love with the Woodland Mosaic Solarium at the Denver Botanic Gardens and knew it was exactly the place they wanted to get married. The solarium is such a special place. I photograph weddings here all the time but each one is so individually different than the other and I love that this space holds so many stories. Vanessa & Mark didn’t want to spend their entire day taking photos and were very intentional about how they spent their time. Their first look was so emotional and I still remember Vanessa grasping Mark’s face as he cried when he saw her. One of their friends created a huge paper floral backdrop for their guests to take photos with while Calla Lane Florals created an elegant pastel dream on the inside of the solarium for both their ceremony & reception. They set up a giant easel with paper where everyone could draw themselves or write a little note. One of my favorite moments from their wedding day was when Mark introduced Vanessa to his grandmother and held both of their hands as they met. Little moments like this are the reason I choose to be a documentary photographer. Those are the moments that are so important and photography gives us access to the memories in a tangible and artful way.
